# DystoPunks Official DystoPunks Litepaper ### DystoPunks NFTs Welcome to a tech-filled dystopian future. DystoPunks is a utility-focused cyberpunk-themed [NFT](https://ethereum.org/nft/) project of unique collectible characters with proof of ownership built on the [Ethereum ](https://ethereum.org/)blockchain, founded on March 2021 by [Dekadente](https://twitter.com/0xDekadente) and initially inspired by [CryptoPunks](https://larvalabs.com/cryptopunks), we managed to be one of the most successful projects in the [AltPunks ](https://theouterrealm.io/blog/a-short-history-of-alt-punks-nfts)movement to this day, however the project has taken its own direction and formed an impressive community and is now in a unique and innovative status throughout the entire [Web3 ](https://ethereum.org/web3/)ecosystem, always focusing on the philosophy of decentralization, utility and governance. DystoPunks has four main NFT collections to date: [DystoPunks](/ecosystem/nft-collections/dystopunks), [DystoPunks VX](/ecosystem/nft-collections/dystopunks-vx), [Dystolab Crates](/ecosystem/nft-collections/dystolab-crates) and [LEG1ON](/encode-network/leg1on), and four [Dekaverse](/ecosystem/nft-collections/dekaverse) genesis collections. Each collection offers different benefits and utility to our holders, and owners of any collection can enjoy access to giveaways, events, perks and private channels in our [Discord](https://discord.gg/DystoPunks) server. > #### Non-fungible tokens (NFT) > > * A way to represent anything unique as an Ethereum-based asset. > * NFTs are giving more power to content creators than ever before. > * Powered by smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain.

### Our mission and commitment We have reinvested the funds from minting and secondary sales to enlarge our [Dev Team](/development/developers), buy Metaverse lands, assets and establish connections and partnerships with innovative Web3/Metaverse builders like [ENCODE Graphics](/encode-network/wiz-comics), [The Sandbox](/metaverses/the-sandbox) and [Worldwide Webb](/metaverses/worldwide-webb). \ \ Our long-term goal is to be one of the most innovative NFT projects and best looking Metaverse characters and assets, we aim to build non-stop across the entire Web3 space through our ever-evolving ecosystem ([NFT Collections](/ecosystem/nft-collections), [$CREDS](/ecosystem/usdcreds) Token/DeFi, [Dystolab](/ecosystem/dystolab) DApp/DAO, [Signal](/ecosystem/signal) Merch/Research and [Dystopium](/ecosystem/dystopium); an ambitious interoperable Metaverse that we are building) {% hint style="info" %} All content presented on this Litepaper is subject to change. {% endhint %} # NFT Collections Official DystoPunks Main NFT Collections

We are developing a browser-based videogame that combines 3D with Pixel-art in a technique called HD-2D; an art style which mixes 2D sprites with HD polygonal graphics, achieving a unique immersion with dystopian scenarios that will fill a whole new universe with high-tech, street-art and a lot of cyberpunk. Initially it will be a place to socialize, explore and interact using our NFTs as characters, but we will expand and develop more advanced features such as character progression and customization, land management and building, Play-to-Earn mechanics, mini-games and of course lots of fun. #### **Dystopium will have these main features:** * Use your favorite NFTs as playable characters and customize it. * Socialize, explore, play, craft, trade, fight and train your [Dystolab](/ecosystem/dystolab) Pets. * Own land, build, advertise and be part of the growing [$CREDS](/ecosystem/usdcreds) based economy. * [DystoPunks](/ecosystem/nft-collections/dystopunks) and [LEG1ON](/encode-network/leg1on) NFTs are a fundamental part of the lore, therefore they will have early access and more in-game perks. {% hint style="info" %} *Dystopium Demo estimated launch date: Q4 2023.* {% endhint %} # LEG1ON ENCODE Graphics x DystoPunks LEG1ON is a high-quality cyberpunk-themed collection of 7777 [ERC-721 standard](https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-721) NFTs. # Smart Contracts Verified Ethereum Smart Contracts [Smart contracts](https://ethereum.org/smart-contracts/) are the fundamental building blocks of Ethereum applications. They are computer programs stored on the blockchain that allow converting traditional contracts into digital parallels. Smart contracts are very logical - following an if this then that structure. This means they behave exactly as programmed and cannot be changed. **DystoPunks:** **DystoPunks VX:** **$CREDS:** **VX Crates:** **VX Assets:** {% hint style="success" %} All [DystoPunks ](/)smart contracts are fully verified. {% endhint %} # ENS Ethereum Name Service [ENS](https://ens.domains/) is a distributed, open, and extensible naming system built on Ethereum, is the most widely integrated blockchain naming standard, your Web3 identity.
