# DystoPunks

### DystoPunks NFTs

Welcome to a tech-filled dystopian future. DystoPunks is a utility-focused cyberpunk-themed [NFT](https://ethereum.org/nft/) project of unique collectible characters with proof of ownership built on the [Ethereum ](https://ethereum.org/)blockchain, founded on March 2021 by [Dekadente](https://twitter.com/0xDekadente) and initially inspired by [CryptoPunks](https://larvalabs.com/cryptopunks), we managed to be one of the most successful projects in the [AltPunks ](https://theouterrealm.io/blog/a-short-history-of-alt-punks-nfts)movement to this day, however the project has taken its own direction and formed an impressive community and is now in a unique and innovative status throughout the entire [Web3 ](https://ethereum.org/web3/)ecosystem, always focusing on the philosophy of decentralization, utility and governance.
