# DystoPunks

### DystoPunks NFTs

Welcome to a tech-filled dystopian future. DystoPunks is a utility-focused cyberpunk-themed [NFT](https://ethereum.org/nft/) project of unique collectible characters with proof of ownership built on the [Ethereum ](https://ethereum.org/)blockchain, founded on March 2021 by [Dekadente](https://twitter.com/0xDekadente) and initially inspired by [CryptoPunks](https://larvalabs.com/cryptopunks), we managed to be one of the most successful projects in the [AltPunks ](https://theouterrealm.io/blog/a-short-history-of-alt-punks-nfts)movement to this day, however the project has taken its own direction and formed an impressive community and is now in a unique and innovative status throughout the entire [Web3 ](https://ethereum.org/web3/)ecosystem, always focusing on the philosophy of decentralization, utility and governance.

DystoPunks has four main NFT collections to date: [DystoPunks](/ecosystem/nft-collections/dystopunks.md), [DystoPunks VX](/ecosystem/nft-collections/dystopunks-vx.md), [Dystolab Crates](/ecosystem/nft-collections/dystolab-crates.md) and [LEG1ON](/encode-network/leg1on.md), and four [Dekaverse](/ecosystem/nft-collections/dekaverse.md) genesis collections. Each collection offers different benefits and utility to our holders, and owners of any collection can enjoy access to giveaways, events, perks and private channels in our [Discord](https://discord.gg/DystoPunks) server.

We have reinvested the funds from minting and secondary sales to enlarge our [Dev Team](/development/developers.md), buy Metaverse lands, assets and establish connections and partnerships with innovative Web3/Metaverse builders like [ENCODE Graphics](/encode-network/wiz-comics.md), [The Sandbox](/metaverses/the-sandbox.md) and [Worldwide Webb](/metaverses/worldwide-webb.md). \
