# $CREDS

### $CREDS Token

$CREDS is an [ERC-20 standard](https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-20) token and the core of the DystoPunks ecosystem, as the ecosystem grows more utility will be added, also works as a governance token and its the beginning of the path towards the [Dystolab DAO](/ecosystem/dystolab.md).

For each [DystoPunks ](/ecosystem/nft-collections/dystopunks.md)NFTs, 7 $CREDS are generated per day for 7 years. The tokens accumulate in each of the NFTs and can be claimed through our website, this means that DystoPunks can be bought, sold and transferred with $CREDS attached. $CREDS have an active liquidity pool on [Uniswap ](/development/blockchain/uniswap.md)maintained by the community, you can swap ETH for $CREDS or vice versa and be a liquidity provider.

#### $CREDS token utility:

* $CREDS can be used as a governance token and vote through [Snapshot](/development/blockchain/snapshot.md).
* $CREDS will be used for all kinds of [Dystolab](/ecosystem/dystolab.md) experiments, like the upcoming Dystolab Pets.
* $CREDS will be used to buy [Signal](/ecosystem/signal.md) Merch and upcoming in real life stuff.
* $CREDS will be used to customize and upgrade [DystoPunks ](/ecosystem/nft-collections/dystopunks.md)and [LEG1ON](/encode-network/leg1on.md) in-game NFT-linked characters.
* $CREDS will be the economic base and official currency of the [Dystopium](/ecosystem/dystopium.md) Metaverse.
* $CREDS Staking, integrations and more utility will be revealed over time.

### $CREDS DeFi

$CREDS meets [DeFi](https://ethereum.org/defi/). $CREDS V2 will be our first proposal to be voted on. We are developing a complex tokenomics to be able to expose it to the community, it will practically be the evolution and the next step towards the Dystolab DAO.
